Access for people with disabilities or injuries

The Sewing Lounge (our Hove classroom) benefits from amazing light and peace & quiet, being at the rear of the third floor of Kingsway House, a pleasant Victorian building in the heart of Hove, East Sussex, UK. Students come back month after month here as they love the venue, class and teachers. However there is no lift and there are a few flights of stairs to reach us.

If you think you may struggle with the three floors of stairs to our classroom but are keen to attend our sewing classes in Hove:

  • We can help you up the stairs by arrangement - see contact details below
  • You don't need to bring your own sewing machine. Use our Janome 725s/525s sewing machines, no need to reserve one of ours for your class, just turn up
  • If you prefer to learn on your own sewing machine we can help you by bringing it up. Let us know in advance and we can arrange for you to arrive slightly early and get help up the stairs from the teacher - either helping you or carrying your sewing machine for you.

Email us here if you would like to arrange help for you or your machine up the stairs, saying which course or workshop type and date you are booked onto.

Private Classes at your home
We can sometimes offer our private 1-2-1 classes at your home with one of our teachers depending on where you live.
Please get in touch here or visit our private 1-2-1 sewing and pattern cutting lessons page here for more info.  (There may be additional charges depending on location, travel or parking costs.)

Hen Party Venue info
We occassionally hire The Brighthelm Centre Cafe in central Brighton to host hen parties (this will have been discussed with you via email)  It has full access for wheelchairs - a ramp and lift.
