Working with Different Fabrics
Learn how to easily sew:
leather/leatherette, chiffon, lining, woven cotton, jersey/lycra, fleece, fur, velvet/corduroy and netting!
In this two session course you will sew seams and hems in all the above fabrics, learning the tricks and techniques needed for an expert finish.
You'll be using a variety of techniques such as french seams, zig zag, stretch stitch, mock band, blind hem, hand hemming and more...

Experience level Suitable for those who know how to use a sewing machine and have made a couple of items before (though not neccessarily clothing) and who are keen to expand their knowledge of how to use different fabrics in their creations, whether that's for home furnishings or dress-making.
Sewing machines We provide sewing machines, which are the same machines they used on the BBC's The Great British Sewing Bee, or you can bring your own.
What to bring to each sewing class Nothing - all materials but do bring your glasses if you need them for close up work.
What to make next? Anything you fancy, from individual bunting flags using different fabrics of items of clothing in Stitch Classes to practise your new found skills.
